HelloPT1997. I suggest you have to put your priorities straight and work hard to achieve your goal. If it is PT that you badly want then set your heart and mind to study and focus on your long term goal to work as a PT someday do not be side track with distractions along the way. It's not easy I know but you have to be disciplined and be determined. Maybe you can forget watching television. I read in a journal once that physical activity/ exercise helps a lot. It makes one process and store facts/info faster. Best of all pray. Good luck pt1997! :)

hello pt1997. coincidentally, i graduated the same year and decided to go back to school after that. now i want to take the pt boards. my question is, to sky or anyone else in the forum, how long did it take for you to study the pt boards? i've been out of touch in pt but have been in a medically related field. i am very determined, do you think 2 mos is enough? thanks. also, what books do i need to study.

thanks.

hello goforit. In my case I studied for 3-4 months while working an 8-hour job daily plus I took a leave from work 2weeks before my npte and read intensively for that 2 week period. I guess purely reviewing/study for 2months is ok. Good luck!

Hi,
also in the same situation, i also graduated in 1997, i was feeling frustrated and in panic mode since it was like reviewing all that i learned from 5 years in PT school in just a couple of months! and the last time i opened a PT book was probably like 13 years ago! all the books i had was 3 or 4 editions behind the latest editions! also had a hard time storing new info etc. i also had no PT work experience, which is a disadvantage... from my experience, the only advise i can give you is just to study hard, and then study some more!! and it's important that you understand the concepts, not just memorizing...
good luck!

Hi...
I did my Bachelor's in Physical Therapy in India, completed in March,2009. I applied to FCCPT for credential evaluation for NJ & PA.
I just got my report today. In that my general credits are just 14 out of 60.
Do i need to do Masters now or I just should get my general credits and apply for re-evaluation??
What's your advices?? Please reply because Ii don't have anybody in this new country to whom i can inquire.

my advice is to do general credits! you can do 'clep' and finish 46 credits in no time!! and its cheaper than masters!

good luck!
